Since its inception, Samajik Kallyan Sangstha (SKS) has relentlessly been implementing a wide range of projects amid the development collaboration of multilateral donor agencies and government funding. As part of its mandate, Samajik Kallyan Sangstha (SKS) in its own and fervid efforts set up a nursery at different villages of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila under Thakurgaon district aiming to protect the environment from being polluted/degraded. Eventually, SKS undertook a project on tree plantation and vegetable farming by organizing and mobilizing the womenfolk in relevant areas and effectively implemented its interventions from one project office. SKS has of late been accomplishing different development endeavours through its 10 project offices with the spontaneous participation of landless people, poor adolescents laced with poverty stricken and downtrodden men and womenfolk let alone implementing Income Generating Activities (IGA). In addition to this, SKS has been executing its development activities at different upazillas of Thakurgaon, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Rangpur, Kurigram and Panchagarh districts respectively. The working interventions of these activities inter alia promoting a sustainable environment and health, organic agriculture, advanced agro technology, fostering women empowerment, adult & adolescent education, progressive elimination of child labour, ensuring informal primary education, social forestry, adolescent development and gender equality.

SKS is pledged bond to ameliorate the unfathomable sufferings and miseries of the socio-economically vulnerable segment of society through improving their lives and livelihoods. As it is widely acknowledge that the reorganization and inclusion of the women’s contribution to the lives and livelihoods of a family and all spectrum of social, political and economic periphery plays a central role in making people and social less porn to shock. Gender equality is considered as a major penury related factor that gives substantial scopes for poverty eradication and attainment of non-discriminatory gender society. Against this backdrop, SKS promotes gender sensitivity approach in its different working interventions.
