Technology Transfer through Implementation of Farmers Field School (FFS)

Farmer Field School (FFS) is a farmer-focused agricultural extension practice, where farmers play a key role in technology development and testing. FFS represents an experiential learning process, which sharpens farmers’ critical thinking and stimulates farmers’ innovation.

Objectives of the project:

  1. To improve farmer’s analytical skills and decisions making capacity by comparing traditional and improved methods,
  2. To enhance farmer’s skills for identifying, prioritizing, and solving farm problems,
  3. To accelerate the economic well-being of interested farmers through developing agro-based enterprises.

Activities:

  1. The project develops linkage activities through different service providers,
  2. Community Meeting,
  3. Use of local resources,
  4. Involve farmers in planning-implementation-monitoring and evaluation,
  5. Provide IGA training to the beneficiaries,
  6. Meeting with LGI,
  7. Advocacy with the land office to ensure distribution of Khas lands among the land less of the FFS beneficiaries.

Union: Rahimanpur, Sukanpukuri, Jamalpur, Chilarang, Roypur, Rahimanpur, Salandar, Auliapur Upazila- Thakurgaon Sadar, Dist.- Thakurgaon,
