Through this project SKS has undertaken awareness and rights based activities against early marriage, dowry, women oppression, responsibilities of local government and other related issues to enhance women rights in their families and society, reducing eve teasing from different organizations, increasing women participation in political decision making process, ensuring information rights & law in appropriate manner, advocacy for preparing women rights related budget and planning by the Union Parishad etc covering area in Salandar, Auliapur, Borogaon and Balia union of Thakurgaon sadar Upazilla under Thakurgaon district through 185 Gender Change Activates (GCA).

Goal: Rural and urban peoples (especially women) are getting information and responsive from local government institutions ( Health, Agriculture, Education, Legal & RTI)

Outcome:

a.       Elected women representatives are accountable to their constituencies and together with former EWR and potential future EWR are collectively requiring gender and poverty sensitive practice in local service delivery and ensuring leadership roles.

b.      Provisions (legal framework including ordinance & directives), political commitment and public opinion conducive for inclusion and participation of EWR ( and potential EWR) and for promoting gender sensitively in service provision of community level.

c.       Information, technical and advisory support to EWR valued, used and continuing.

3. MoU signing with marriage registrar for ensuring birth registration certificate,
4. Dialogue meeting with union information Centre,
5. Student campaign program,
6. Dialogue meeting with religious leader-school teacher-SMC and gender change activists(GCA),
7. Prevent early marriage by the associate with local government,
8. Establishing Bill board in front of Union parishad,
9. Awareness raising mass gathering for reducing domestic violence against women,
10. Demonstration on awareness raising VDO show in different communities,
11. Conduction bi-monthly NNPC meeting,
12. Legal Aid support through advocacy,
13. GCA meeting etc takes place for project implementation.

 Location of the project: Salandar, Auliapur, Borogaon and Balia union of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila under Thakurgaon district.
